Der griechische Regisseur Theo Angelopoulos, Gewinner der Goldenen Palme 1998 auf dem Filmfestival in Cannes für Die Ewigkeit und ein Tag , wird nie ein Publikum haben, das aus sporadischen Kinogängern besteht. Aber das will er auch gar nicht. Fordernd, schwierig und unheimlich folgt Angelopoulos seinem eigenen wohlüberlegten Stil: manchmal Ehrfurcht einflößend, manchmal verzaubernd.
